CCFOI Meeting Minutes – January 18, 2017

The meeting was at Wood-n-Tap, 99 Sisson Ave., Hartford.

The minutes of the Dec. 14, 2016 meeting were accepted.

Present: Dan Klau, Chris Powell, Dick Ahles, Mitch Pearlman, Gary Gold, Colleen Murphy, Mary Connolly, Michele Jacklin, Jeff Daniels, Zach Janowski , John Bailey, Tom Scheffey.

Legislative report: Bailey said there are 12 bills CCFOI is tracking in the 2017 legislative session. These bills focus on community access television, legislative votes on collective bargaining agreements, and budget transparency. Once again, there is a proposal for the nondisclosure of home addresses of police officers on municipal land records.

Membership: There was discussion of Daniels’ proposal at the November 2016 meeting to increase and diversify CCFOI membership. Klau asked for suggestions on the interests that should be represented on the board.

Looking ahead: The next CCFOI meeting will be Feb. 15 at noon at Wood-n-Tap.
